Nerves

Tomorrow I finally go out into the field. The majority of the classroom training is done and now it is time to do it under live fire. It's kinda funny, our trainers and managers throw a lot of war analogies around the office. Sometimes I get the sense like were going out into the field to do battle. I always thought that we sold insurance to help people out and make some scratch on the side.

Anywho, I'm really nervous about tomorrow. I've got the field trainer with me and I know I'll do all right. It's just talking to another person face to face is a completely different animal. Still, it's only a shade better than talking to people over the phone, but not by much.

And before I forget, a well deserved thank you for those who cheered me on, and a sincere apologies to those I have taken for granted. I couldn't strive for better things without your help.

Last Night in Iowa

Well, I still don't working the phones, but at least I'm comfortable with the long term care presentation. It's been fun down here, but I'm really looking forward to going home and making some money. What sucks is that I have to be at work at 8:00am Saturday morning. Still won't stop me from going to happy hour. See you all there.

Another Day, Another Chance

The first day of training was pretty basic-an introduction to the company, sales cycle, and some basic phone technique. We got a chance to work the phones late afternoon, and I found out two things. One, I definitely need more practice on the phones and two, retired folks are definitely more morning people. Anywho, their having us come in an hour early today to work the phones again before class begins. Wish me luck.
