Welcome to Minneapolis

Got in an hour ago. Dog tired from packing and driving. The shower felt heavenly. Going to sleep now.

F*ck MySpace

Now I remember why I resisted moving to myspace.

At the request of my fellow Wisconsin Pai Lums, I started a myspace account last night. They said it would be the easiest way for all of us to keep in touch (like email and my cell phones weren't enough), and they weren't going to read some damn ordinary boring-looking blog.

I couldn't help but feel a little offended, but I like these people and so, for their sake, I gave it a whirl. I couldn't even load the page the first five times I tried to call it up on my browser. And when it did come up, the site was down due to some "internal malfunction." I understand that this site is insanely popular, but it they know they are handling this amount of traffic I would think that they would have their shit together better than this.

Later, I did manage to sign up and make my profile. I even started another blog and flagged my kung fu friends who had begged me to join up. And now *sigh* myspace is again down due to an "internal malfunction"

I like my blogspot. My own little slice of the web.

I'm going to go get something to eat and then pick up the U-Haul.

Breaking Orbit

I'm leaving for Minnesota two days from now. My apartment is a wreck. Boxes and garbage bags are piled everywhere. Somewhere amidst all this junk is my all too important blood pressure medication. I'm sure once I pick up the truck tomorrow and move most of this stuff in there, my mental state will improve.

It's funny. I've been dreading this day for the longest while. Not so much over the logistical nightmare of moving. Maybe I'm just militantly resistant to change. But it's a good change and a neccessary one.

I'm leaving behind good friends and memories, but none that I can't revisit or take with me.
I've made my peace with Milwaukee.

It's time to move on.
